Kryptos 3/ Layers

Composed ciphertexts are used to make K4 cascade over many layers. Clues expressed at each layer bridge to the next, providing guidance to the solver. Methods change and shift, and new variations on old methods are suggested. Keys, structures, and ideas are invoked via precise clues and clue combinations. Kryptos tells stories.

As long as clues are sufficient, there is no limit to the number of layers or the type of structures that are possible for a solvable cipher of this type. Some layers are uncertain but lead to more certainty eventually, some are easy and some exceptionally difficult. Some verge on impossible and entice Sanborn into providing help, such as giving the precise location of a crib or inserting an "S" in the just the right place.
